CHAPTER 52
AN ACT to transfer the jurisdiction and control of certain par-
cels of land through and along Blue Ridge Sanatorium, in
Albemarle County, from the State Board of Health to the
State Highway Commission, and to authorize the latter
agency to use said parcels of land as a part of State High-
way Route Number 20.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the jurisdiction and control of those two certain par-
cels of land hereinafter described, lying and being situate in
Albemarle County, and along and through the Blue Ridge Sana-
torium, be and the same are hereby transferred from the State
Board of Health to the State Highway Commission, which is
hereby authorized to use and maintain the same as a part of
State Highway Route Number Twenty. Said parcels of land lie
on either side of and adjacent to the survey and plan centerline
of said highway, which follows closely the center of the existing
highway, and are located and are of the widths and areas as
shown on Sheet Numbers 3 and 4 of plans for Route Number
Twenty, Project Number Twenty-eight Hundred and Two-Zero
One, on file in the office of the Department of Highways at Rich-
mond; the said parcels of land being described as follows:
Parcel Number One: A strip of land Forty Feet in width
lying on the southeast side of and adjacent to the said centerline
from the beginning of said project at survey Station Fourteen
Plus Zero approximately Six Hundred Feet southwesterly from
the intersection of Route Numbers Twenty and Fifty-three, and
extending southwesterly a distance of Thirty-six Hundred and
Eighty-nine Feet to the south property line of Blue Ridge Sana-
torium and property line of Smart at survey Station Fifty Plus
Eighty-nine.
Parcel Number Two: A strip of land Forty Feet in width
lying on the northwest side of and adjacent to the said center-
line from survey Station Fourteen Plus Zero, and extending
southwesterly Twenty-seven Hundred and Eight Feet to the
south property line of Blue Ridge Sanatorium and property line
of Fox at survey Station Forty-one Plus Zero Eight.
The said parcels of land contain Five and Eighty-seven-one-
hundredths acres, more or less.
2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
