CHAPTER 504
AN ACT to authorize the Department of Welfare and Institu-
tions to sell and convey certain timber, and to appropriate
funds.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The Department of Welfare and Institutions is authorized
to sell and convey by proper deeds or contracts upon such terms
as it deems appropriate, the standing timber on the property
of the Virginia Industrial School for Boys in the County of
Powhatan and on the property of the Virginia Home and In-
dustrial School for Girls, in Chesterfield County. This authoriza-
tion shall only permit the sale of such timber which has been or
will be designated by the State Forester as mature and suitable
for severance. The sales herein authorized shall be subject to
approval by the Governor, and the deeds or contracts therefor
shall be prepared by the Attorney General.
2. The funds realized from the sales of the aforesaid timber
shall be paid into the general fund of the State treasury.
