CHAPTER 461

AN ACT to authorize the governing todies of certain counties to
provide that certain charges and tazes shall be a lien on prop-
erty served thereby and to provide for the enforcement thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. The governing body of any county adjoining a city lying
wholly within the State and which has a population of more than
one hundred ninety thousand may by ordinance provide that taxes
or charges hereafter made, imposed or incurred for sewers or use
thereof in such county shall be a lien on the real estate served by
such sewer.

§ 2. Any such lien if properly docketed in the clerk’s office
as provided by law may be enforced in the same manner as
other taxes due the county or by cutting off sewer service provided
the public health or safety will not be endangered thereby.

2. An emeregncy exists and this act is in force from its passage.
