CHAPTER 392

AN ACT to amend the Code of 1950 by adding a section num-
bered 29-184.1, authorizing the governing bodies of certain
counties to increase license taxes on dogs therein.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of 1950 be amended by adding a section num-
bered 29-184.1, as follows:
_ § 29-184.1. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preced-
Ing section the governing body of any county having an area of
more than nine hundred square miles and a population not ex-
ceeding fifty thousand may by ordinance provide that the amount
of the license tax on dogs in such county shall be as follows:

For a male dog, not exceeding two dollars.

For an unsexed female dog, not exceeding two dollars.

For other female dogs, not exceeding five dollars.
