CHAPTER 389

AN ACT to validate a lease entered into by the Director of the
Department of Welfare and Institutions with Junius D.
Updyke on the 22nd day of August, 1949. 649

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. Thata lease entered into on the 22nd day of August, 1949,
between Junius D. Updyke, divorced, of the County of Bland,
State of Virginia, and the Director of the Department of Welfare
and Institutions, conveying a certain tract of land containing nine
and three-fourths acres, more or less, in the Mechanicsburg Mag-
isterial District, Bland County, Virginia, lying and being on the
waters of Walkers Big Creek, south of Point Pleasant, fully des-
cribed in said lease, for the purpose of establishing a lime grind-
ing plant for the employment of convicts, be and the same hereby
is validated.
