AN ACT to amend and reenact Section 46-155 of the Code of 1950
relating to fecs imposed on certain motor vehicles.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Section 46-155 of the Code of 1950 be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 46-155. Same; additional fee for * certain vehicles, vehicles
transporting employees.— * In addition to the fees tmposed under
§ 46-154, for the operation of each motor vehicle, trailer or semi-
trailer kept or used for rent or for hire under a temporary lease
without chauffeur, for the transportation of passengers which
operates or should operate under an eremption card issued by the
State Corporation Commission, there shall be paid to the Com-
missioner by the owner of the vehicle the sum of ten cents per
hundred pounds of weight or major fraction thereof; provided that
on taxicabs and other vehicles kept for rent or hire operated with
chauffeurs for the transportation of passengers which operate or
should operate under permits issued by the Corporation Commission
as provided by law, there shall be paid to the Commissioner the
sum of thirty cents per hundred pounds of weight or major fraction
thereof. Provided further that the provisions of this section shall
not apply to any carrier operating under a certificate of public
convenience and necessity issued by the State Corporation Com-
mission, or under a local franchise granted by any City or Town,
nor to any carrier which ts subject to and pays to the State the
road tax calculated on gross receipts provided under § 58-638.
