AN ACT for the relief of Patricia D. Parrott
Approved April 5, 1950
Whereas, Patricia D. Parrott of Arlington County, Virginia,
was on March 20, 1949, the wife of a student, Robert K. Parrott,
at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia, residing
at the Copely Hills student trailer quarters, Mrs. Parrott was
caused to suffer sudden, severe and permanent injuries from which
she will never fully recover;
Whereas, both Mr. and Mrs. Parrott suffered great losses in
personal effects and property of various kinds and were caused
to expend great sums for medical expenses and services and will
expend great sums in the future for medical expenses and services;
Whereas, Mrs. Parrott’s beauty will be permanently marred
as a result of the injury, causing her great mental pain and suffer.

law against the University as it is an agency of the State and
there is no other means by which Mr. and Mrs. Parrott can be

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the
State treasury the sum of eight thousand dollars as compensa-
tion for the injury sustained by her caused by one of the servants
of the State, to be paid Patricia D. Parrott on warrant of the
Comptroller drawn on the State Treasurer as provided by law.
Simultaneous with.the payment of the said sum of eight thous-
and dollars the said Patricia D. Parrott, and her consort, shall exe-
cute and deliver a full, absolute and complete release to the Com-
monwealth of Virginia.
