AN ACT for the relief of O. R. Williams.

Whereas, On August 22, 1949 a convict, one Joseph Melton,
being then imprisoned by the State Convict Road Force, escaped
therefrom through no fault of the guards, broke into the home of
Walter Ball and there assaulted him causing his hospitalization;
and
Whereas, O. R. Williams, Superintendent of the Camp from
which said Melton escaped, paid the bill for hospitalization
amounting to thirty-two dollars and fifty cents incurred by Mr.
Ball and there is no method by which he can be reimbursed though
it is proper and fitting that he be so reimbursed; Now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. There is hereby appropriated out of the funds in the State
treasury to the credit of the State Convict Road Force the sum of
thirty-two dollars fifty cents for the relief of O. R. Williams and
the Comptroller is directed to draw his warrant on the State
preasurer therefor which shall-be paid in the manner provided
y law.
