CHAPTER 292
AN ACT to prohibit fishing, except under certain conditions, on
or below the Chickahominy Dam at Walker’s, on the Chicka-
hominy River, in Charles City County, Virginia, for a
distance of five hundred yards; and to provide a penalty.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation,
or association to take or catch fish or shellfish, with lines, seines,
or otherwise, on or within five hundred yards below the Chicka-
hominy Dam at Walker’s, on the Chickahominy River, in Charles
City County, Virginia; provided that it shall be lawful to fish
on or within five hundred yards below such dam with rod and
reel and hand line using baits or lures with not more than one
hook and not more than one such bait or lure to each line.
§ 2. Any person violating this act shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and punished as provided by law.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its
passage.
