AN ACT to name State Highway Number 626, in Patrick and
Henry Counties, the Abram Penn Highicay.

Whereas, the career of Colonel Abram Penn, pioneer settler
in that area of Virginia from which the counties of Patrick, Henry
and Franklin were formed. as soldier, jurist and statesman, de-
‘erves to be commemorated: Now, Therefore
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. That State Highway Number Six hundred twenty-six, ex-
tending from United States Highway number fifty-eight in Patrick
county to its intersection with State highway number six hundred
eighty-seven at Sanville, in Henry County, is designated the Abram
Penn Highway.
§ 2. The State Highway Commission is directed to have pre-
pared and erected suitable markers showing the name of such high-
way; and further to have prepared and at a point on such high-
way erected at or near the burial place of Colonel Penn, “Poplar
Grove” in Patrick County, a suitable historical marker setting
forth the facts concerning the career of this illustrious patriot.
