AN ACT to amend and reenact § 19-11 of the Code of 1950,
relating to enforcement of forfeitures.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 19-11 of the Code of 1950 be amended and re-
snacted as follows:
§19-11. Enforcement of forfeitures.—Any forfeiture in-
‘urred by a viclation of §§ 18-284, 18-301, or 18-302 may be
anforced under chapter 10 of Title 29 in like manner as a for-
eiture may be enforced thereunder for violation of any of the
orovisions of Titles 28 and 29, except as follows:
(1) § 29-220 and so much of § 29-224 as relates to
$ 29-220, shall not apply to the case;
(2) There shall be no publication of the notice in a news-
paper as required by § 29-219;
(3) If the forfeiture was incurred within the jurisdic-
tional limits of a corporation having a corporation or hustings
court, the information shall be filed in such court and the no-
tice posted at the front door of the courthouse of said cor-
poration ; ,
(4) Any money, condemned as forfeited, shall not be
sold, but shall be disposed of by the court in like manner as
the proceeds of forfeited property condemned and sold; and
(5) If the property seized pursuant to § 18-802 of the
Code of 1950 be a motor vehicle or vehicles, then the proceeding
for forfeiture of any such motor vehicle or vehicles shall be
brought in accordance with the provisions of § 4-56 of the Code
of 1950 and the rights of innocent owners and lienors of said
motor vehicle or vehicles shall be protected as provided in said
§ 4-56 of the Code of 1950, and the provisions of that section as
to innocent owners and lienors shall be applied.
