CHAPTER 24
AN ACT to authorize the Board of Visitors of Virginia Polytechnic
Institute to convey certain property in the city of Radford
in connection with the improvement of Radford College,
Woman’s Division.

Whereas, Radford College, Woman’s Division is now engaged
in making certain improvements connected with its facilities at
Radford, Virginia; and .
Whereas, in making such improvements it is necessary to close
a certain alley adjacent to the property of the Virginia Poly-
technic Institute and the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian Church;
and
Whereas, the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian Church is willing
to forego its rights in opposition to the closing of the alley in con-
sideration for a strip of land thirty feet wide and one hundred feet
long south of the property of the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian
Church; Now, Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That in consideration of the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian
Church foregoing any rights it may have to oppose the closing of
a certain alley running from Tyler Street to Washington Street
in Radford, Virginia, south of the property of Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and the property of Tyler Memorial Presbyterian Church,
the Board of Visitors of Virginia Polytechnic Institute is author-
ized, with the approval of the Governor in writing, to convey all
its right, title and interest to a strip of land thirty feet by one
hundred feet immediately south of and adjacent to the Tyler
Memorial Presbyterian Church, to the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian
Church of Radford, Virginia.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from passage.
