CHAPTER 200

AN ACTto amend the Code of 1950 by adding a section numbered
15-504.1, to permit the boards of supervisors of certain
counties to contract with the clerks or treasurers of such
counties for services in connection with the preparation of

the county budget.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of 1950 be amended by adding a section num-
bered 15-504.1, as follows:

§ 15-504. 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 15-504,
the county treasurer or county clerk of any county adjoining
a city having less than four thousand population, or of any
county having more than four thousand but less than four
thousand two hundred population, or of any county having more
than four thousand two hundred but less than four thousand
eight hundred or of any county having a population of less
than four thousand or of any county having a population of not
less than sixteen thousand three hundred and not more than
sixteen thousand six hundred may contract with and receive
additional compensation from the board of supervisors of any
such county for the performance of services in connection with
the preparation of the county budget.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its
passage.
