AN ACT to amend and reenact § 46-142 of the Code of 1950 so as
to omit the requirement that trailers and semi-trailers be
registered and identified.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Section 46-142 of the Code of 1950 be amended and re-
enacted as follows:

§ 46-142. Registration with State Corporation Commission of
certain vehicles operated by carriers.—Every person who operates,
or causes to be operated, any motor vehicle * for the transportation
of persons or property for compensation upon the highways of Vir-
yinia shall, if such vehicle is not required to be registered or
licensed in Virginia pursuant to some other section or by reason of
some reciprocal agreement existing between the Commonwealth
and any other government, register such motor vehicle * * * *
with the State Corporation Commission, on forms prescribed and
furnished by the Commission and obtain therefor from the Com-
mission a registration card and an identification tag or marker.
