CHAPTER 162

AN ACT to limit the placing, setting and use of certain devices
to take crabs in the Piankitank river; and to prescribe

penalties for violations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or
association to place, set or use crab traps or fykes in the Pianki-
tank river within one hundred yards of any other crab trap or
fyke without respect to whether or not such other crab trap or
fyke is owned by the same or some other person, firm, corpora-
tion or association. Any person, firm, corporation or association
violating any of the provisions of this act shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and punished as provided by law.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from passage.
