CHAPTER 155
AN ACT to reestablish, fix and make certain a portion of the
boundary line between the counties of New Kent and
Henrico.

Whereas, the Chickahominy River has constituted the
boundary between the counties of New Kent and Henrico; and
Whereas, the State Department of Highways at Bottom’s
Bridge relocated the channel of the Chickahominy incident to
the construction of U. S. Highway No. 60, thus leaving in doubt
this portion of the boundary between said counties; Now,
Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The center of the old channel of the Chickahominy River
shall remain, constitute and be the boundary between the coun-
ties of New Kent and Henrico; said old channel begins. at a
point to the North of said highway where the new channel inter-
sects the old channel; thence along said old channel in a South-
westerly direction crossing beneath said highway to a point
South of such highway to the point of intersection of said new
channel and the old channel, as shown on a plat recorded in the
clerks’ offices of the counties of New Kent and Henrico, respec-
tively, for this purpose. That tract of land lying to the South-
west of said new channel shall remain, constitute and be a por-
tion of the county of New Kent notwithstanding the aforesaid
diversion of the natural channel of such waters.
An emergency exists and this act is in force from passage.
