AN ACT to amend and reenact § 29-65 of the Code of 1950,
relating to sale of hunting, trapping and fishing license and
designation of agents therefor.
[ H 92]
Approved March 8, 1950
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 29-65 of the Code of 1950 be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 29-65. Agents for sale of licenses and permits.—The
Commission shall have authority to appoint agents for the issu-
ance and sale of the permits provided for in this title; the Com-
mission may designate agents in towns for the issuance and sale
of licenses provided for in this title. If the clerk of any court de-
sires to be relieved of this duty, or gives his consent thereto in
writing, the Commission shall have authority to require its agents
also to sell hunting, trapping and fishing licenses in the place of
or in addition to the clerk. Such agents shall be subject to the
laws covering the issuance and sale of licenses and the regula-
tions of the Commission as to the issuance and sale of permits.
The compensation of agents for issuing licenses and permits
shall be fixed by the Commission but shall not be more for issu-
ing licenses than provided in this title for clerks of courts.
Before such appointment shall become effective, the agent shall
deposit with the Commission a bond of a surety company
entitled to do business in this State, payable to the Common-
wealth, in the penalty of one thousand dollars, or such addi-
tional amount as the Commission may require, conditioned for
the faithful performance of his duties.
