CHAPTER 108
AN ACT to authorize the State Board of Education to relocate the
Division in the city of Norfolk of the Virginia State College,
to authorize the city of Norfolk to convey to the Common-
wealth of Virginia certain property for that purpose, to
authorize the State Board of Education to accept on behalf
of the Commonwealth such property so conveyed, and to
authorize the conveyance to the city of Norfolk of certain
property now owned by the Commonwealth in exchange
therefor.

Whereas, pursuant to Chapter eighty-six of the Acts of <As-
sembly of nineteen hundred forty-four and other applicable laws,
the State Board of Education has established and operates in the
city of Norfolk a Division of the Virginia State College on the
site formerly occupied by the Saint Vincent de Paul Hospital,
which site was conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia for such
purpose by the city of Norfolk; and
Whereas, it is proposed to relocate said Division in Norfolk
on a more suitable site provided the city of Norfolk conveys or
causes to be conveyed to the Commonwealth of Virginia, without
cost, such other site, in exchange for the present site; now, there-
fore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The State Board of Education, the governing body of the Vir-
ginia State College, is hereby authorized and empowered to re-
te, establish and operate, on another site in the city of
folk, the aforesaid Division of the Virginia State College.
The city of Norfolk is hereby authorized and empowered to
rey or cause to be conveyed, by proper deed or deeds, to the
imonwealth of Virginia, without cost and on such terms and
litions as the governing body of said city shall deem proper,
