Chap. 93.—An ACT to amend and reenact Section 5958 of the Code of Virginia,
relating to the jurisdiction of courts of record over certain waters, so as
to give similar territorial jurisdiction to courts not of record. tS 111]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That section fifty-nine hundred fifty-eight of the Code of
irginia be amended and reenacted as follows:
Section 5958. Jurisdiction of courts of counties and cities over
tain waters.—When any river, water course, or bay lies between
y counties or any cities, or any county and city in this State,
circuit courts for the counties and the circuit or corporation
courts of the cities, and the courts not of record therein, on each
side, respectively, shall have concurrent territorial jurisdiction
over so much thereof as shall be opposite to said counties and cities.
And the circuit courts for counties and the circuit or corporation
courts of the cities lying on the waters bounding the State, and
the courts not of record therein, shall have concurrent territorial
jurisdiction respectively over such waters opposite said counties
and cities, as far as the jurisdiction of this State extends, provided
that this section shall not apply to the cities of Richmond and
Norfolk.
