Chap. 83.—An ACT to provide for the taking of census in certain towns. [S 167]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The governing body of any town entirely surrounded by a
county having a population of more than fourteen thousand eight
hundred sixty-five but less than fourteen thousand nine hundred
according to the last preceding United States census is authorized
to have a census taken of the population of the town. Such census
may be taken in such manner as the governing body of the town
deems proper and the expense thereof shall be borne by the town.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
