Chap. 77.—An ACT to authorize the town of Lawrenceville in the county of
Bnmswick to grant and convey, in exchange for other property, certain
real estate no longer needed for town purposes; and to repeal chapter 50,
Acts of Assembly, Extra Session, 1947, approved January 30, 1947, relatin
to the same matters. (S 135

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Section 1. The governing body of the town of Lawrence-
ville in the county of Brunswick is hereby authorized to grant
and convey unto the Brunswick Ice & Coal Company, Incorporated,
in consideration of the transfer of such company to the town of
certain property needed for use as a public street, the following
property which is no longer needed for town purposes:
All that certain strip or parcel of land, situate and being in
the corporate limits of the town of Lawrenceville, Brunswick
County, Virginia, being designated as ‘Nameless Street” on a cer-
tain map which is described as a “New Street Extended”, made by
N. J. Bostick, County Surveyor for Brunswick County, Virginia
on September nine, nineteen hundred forty-seven, which map is
on file in the office of the Treasurer of the town; said map being a
redivision of Block Three shown on a map of the lands of Law-
renceville Land and Improvement Company and West Side Addi-
tion made by M. French in nineteen hundred four, and of record in
the clerk’s office of the county, in Deed of Trust Book two, page
thirty-five. Said “Nameless Street” being more particularly de-
scribed as follows: Beginning on the west side of High Street
at an iron pin marking the southeast corner of Lot Seventeen in
said Block Three thence south eight degrees zero four minutes
west forty feet to the right of way of the Southern Railway
Company, thence in a westerly direction along the right of way
of said Southern Railway Company as it curves to the right on
atwo degree curve a distance of three hundred one and eight-
tenths feet to an iron pin marking the intersection of the east
line of Park Street with the right of way of said Railway Company,
thence along the east side of said Park Street north eight degrees
zero four minutes east thirty-seven and two-tenths feet to the
intersection of the northern line of said “Nameless Street” with
the east line of Park Street, thence along the northern limits of
said “Nameless Street” in an easterly direction a distance of three
hundred one and eight-tenths feet to the point of beginning.
Section 2. The governing body of the town is hereby author-
ized to accept from the Brunswick Ice & Coal Company, Incor-
porated, in consideration of said transfer referred to above, a good
and sufficient deed conveying to the town of Lawrenceville the
following property which is needed by the town for use as a public
street:
A certain strip or parcel of land situate and being within the
corporate limits of the town of Lawrenceville, Brunswick County,
Virginia, being designated as “New Street Extended”, on a certain
map or plat, which is also described as “New Street Extended”
made by N. J. Bostick, County Surveyor for Brunswick County,
Virginia on September the ninth, nineteen hundred forty-seven,
which said map is on file in the office of the Treasurer of said town ;
said map being a redivision of Block Three, on a certain map of
Lawrenceville Land and Improvement Company and the West
Side Addition, made by M. French in nineteen hundred four, and
duly of record in the clerk’s office of said county, in Deed of
Trust book two page thirty-five. Said “New Street Extended”
being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an
iron pin on the west side of High Street eight and seven-tenths
feet in a northern direction from the northeast corner of Lot
Seventeen, Block Three, thence north eighty degrees twenty-
four minutes, west one hundred forty feet to an iron pin on
the east side of twenty foot alley, being eleven and three-tenths
feet northerly from the northwest corner of said Lot Seventeen,
thence north seventy-three degrees fifteen minutes west one hun-
dred sixty-two feet to an iron pin on the east side of Park
Street, said pin being one hundred and nine-tenths feet in a north-
erly direction from the right of way. of the Southern Railway
Company, thence along the eastern side of Park Street north
eight degrees zero four east forty and three-tenths feet to an
iron pin which marks the southwest corner of Lot Thirty-Seven
in said Block Three, thence south seventy-three degrees fifteen
minutes east one hundred sixty-two feet to an iron pin on the east
side of said twenty foot alley, which marks the new southwest
corner of Lot Fifteen, in said Block Three, said new corner being
one and three-tenths feet in a northerly direction from the original
corner of said lot, thence along the newly made southern line of
said lot, south eighty degrees twenty-four minutes east one hundred
forty feet to an iron pin on the west side of High Street marking
the newly made southeast corner of said Lot Fifteen, said new
corner being one and three-tenths feet southerly from the original
corner of said lot, thence along the west side of High Street, south
eight degrees zero four minutes west forty feet to the point of be-
ing.
om. Chapter fifty, Acts of Assembly, Extra Session, nineteen
hundred forty-seven, approved January thirty, nineteen hundred
forty-seven is repealed.
3. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
