Chap. 547.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a new section
numbered 1006-c, authorizing the State Hospital Board to enter into reciprocal
arrangements with other States for the transfer and care of patients. [H 176]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia :

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a new section
numbered one thousand six-c, as follows:

Section 1006-c. The State Hospital Board is authorized with the
consent of the Governor to enter into reciprocal agreements with other
states for the transfer from this State to such other state of any person
in any institution subject to the Board when any such person has not
resided within this State for at least one year. Such agreements may
also provide for the acceptance by the Board of citizens of this State
who are inmates of any like institution of the state with which the
agreement is made.
