Chap. 480.—An ACT to amend the Virginia Public Welfare and Assistance Act
of 1938 by adding a new section numbered 6-a, relating to boards of can
welfare in certain counties, [H 521

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Virginia Public Welfare and Assistance Act of nine-
teen hundred thirty-eight be amended by adding a new section six-a
as follows:
Section 6-a. Notwithstanding the provisions of section six hereof,
as amended, in any county having a population of more than twenty-
two thousand but less than twenty-two thousand six hundred the
local board of public welfare shall be composed of not less than
three nor more than seven members appointed in the manner and
for the term provided by section six. Insofar as applicable the other
provisions of this act and section six thereof shall apply to the board
herein provided for.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
