Chap. 405.—An ACT to amend and reenact Section 97 of the Code of Virginia,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That section ninety-seven of the Code of Virginia be amended
and reenacted as follows:

Section 97. Registrar ineligible to office——No person who acts
as registrar shall be eligible to an office to be filled by election by the
people at the election to be held next after he has so acted as registrar;
provided that when any registrar of any county resides within any area
which has been or is hereafter annexed by any city he shall be eligible
to election to any office in such city if he does not act as registrar therein.
