Chap. 312.—An ACT to amend and reenact Section 6-a of er ed 15, as amended,
of the Acts of Assembly of 1927, approved April 11, 1927, prescribing condi-
tions upon which zoning regulations may be amended or repealed. {S 288]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That section six-a of chapter fifteen, as amended, of the Acts
of Assembly of nineteen hundred twenty-seven, approved April
eleven, nineteen hundred twenty-seven, be amended and reenacted
as follows:
Section 6-a. In case of a protest against a proposed amend-
ment, supplement, change, modification or repeal of any regulation,
restriction, or boundary, duly signed by the owners of twenty
per centum or more either of the area of land included in such
proposed amendment, supplement, change, modification or repeal,
or of the land within five hundred feet of the boundary of the area
of land included in such proposed amendment, supplement, change,
modification or repeal, such proposed amendment, supplement,
change, modification or repeal shall not become effective except
by the favorable vote of four-fifths of all member of the governing
body of such county. The signatures required by this section need
not all be affixed to the same copy of the protest but each signature
shall be witnessed by a person whose affidavit to that effect shall be
attached to the copy of the protest to which such signature is
affixed.
