Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The governing body of the town of South Hill in the county
of Mecklenburg is authorized, by their proper officers and in con-
sideration of the conveyance to the town of such real estate or in
consideration of such dedication or other consideration as they may
deem fit, to convey to Olivia M. Taylor or any one she may desig-
nate, and to abandon and close in whole or in part as a public
thoroughfare, a certain fifteen-foot alley not needed for public
purposes which is abutted on both sides by property belonging
to her and which extends from a point on Goodes Ferry Boulevard
lying southwardly from its intersection with Second Street to
another point on Goodes Ferry Boulevard lying northwardly from
its intersection with Fifth Street.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its
passage.
