Chap. 280.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a new section
numbered 4987-g 2, relating to powers of clerks of trial justices in certain
counties and to validate certain actions. [H 304

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a new
section numbered forty-nine hundred eighty-seven-g two as follows:
Section 4987-g 2. The clerk of the trial justice court in any
county adjoining a city having a population of more than one
hundred seventy thousand according to the last preceding United
States census shall have power, subject to approval of the trial
justice, to execute appeal bonds in case of appeal from all judg-
ments, civil and criminal, of the trial justice court, and to execute
all other bonds required in the removal of cases from such trial
justice court to the circuit court of the county. All such actions
heretofore taken are hereby validated.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its
passage.
