Whereas, on December 13th, 1947, B. S. Yeager, of Rapidan,
Virginia, was driving his car in a lawful manner on United States
Highway No. 15, near Culpeper ; without warning a mule owned by
the State Convict Road Force broke loose, ran headlong into the
road, and crashed into the car of B. S. Yeager, doing personal and
property damages to B. S. Yeager and his car in the amount of five
hundred twelve dollars; and there is no method by which B. S.
Yeager can recover for the losses he has suffered; Now, Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the State
treasury to the credit of the Department of Highways, the sum
of five hundred and twelve dollars to be paid to B. S. Yeager in
the manner provided by law.
