Whereas, on July thirty, nineteen hundred forty-seven, James M.
Harman, a guard in the employment of the State Convict Road
Force, shot at an escaping prisoner near Route six hundred seventy-
seven, in Henry County, Virginia, and accidentally injured Noah
C. Hudson, of Bassett, Virginia ; and
Whereas, Noah C. Hudson, due to no fault of his own was
totally incapacitated for work for a long period of time, sustained
permanent injuries and was put to heavy medical and other ex-
penses as a result of the action of an employee of an agency of
the Commonwealth; Now, Therefore
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Comptroller is authorized and directed to draw
his warrant on the State Treasurer, chargeable against the appro-
priation for criminal charges, in favor of Noah C. Hudson for the
sum of seven hundred fifty dollars.
