Chap. 254.—An ACT to amend and reenact Section 6502 of the Code of Virginia,
relating to when lien acquired under Section 6501 of the Code ceases. [S 40]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That section sixty-five hundred two of the Code of Virginia
be amended and reenacted as follows:
Section 6502. When lien acquired under section sixty-five
hundred one ceases.—The lien acquired under section sixty-five
hundred one shall cease whenever the right of the judgment
creditor, to enforce the judgment by execution, scire facias, or
action ceases, or is suspended by a forthcoming bond being given
and forfeited, by supersedeas, or by other legal process, or as to
all intangibles upon the expiration of one (1) year from the return
day of the execution or from the determination of the amount owed
by the third person, whichever is longer.
