Chap. 227.—An ACT to amend Chapter 62, as amended, of the Acts of Assembly
of 1916, approved February 24, 1916, known as the Uniform Land Registration
Act, by adding thereto a new section numbered 89-c, providing a method for
the removal of property from the operation of the Act, and validating certain
orders heretofore made removing property from the operation of the Act.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
_ 1. That chapter sixty-two, as amended, of the Acts of Assembly
of nineteen hundred sixteen, approved February twenty-four,
nineteen hundred sixteen, known as the Uniform Land Registration
Act, be amended by adding thereto a new section numbered eighty-
nine-c, as follows:
Section 89-c. Removal of land from registration; certain re-
movals validated—(a) Upon application in person or by counsel of
the registered owner or the successor in title of such owner of
any real estate, registered under the provisions of this act, the
judge of the Court of Land Registration of any city or county in
which such real estate is situated may, by an order entered therein,
remove such property completely from the operation of said act
and direct that thereafter it shall be subject only to the general
registration laws of the Commonwealth. .
(b) Any and all orders heretofore entered by any Court of
Land Registration releasing or attempting to release, any real
estate, at the request of such owner or successor in title, from the
operation of said act are hereby validated and made effective as
of the date of entry of such order.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
