Chap. 226.—An ACT to amend and reenact Sections 8 and 10 of Chapter 15 of
the Acts of Assembly of 1927, Extra Session, approved April 11, 1927, the
chapter relating to zoning in certain counties and the sections providing for
the appointment of the board of zoning appeals. {S 269]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That sections eight and ten of chapter fifteen of the Acts
of Assembly of nineteen hundred twenty-seven, Extra Session,
approved April eleven, nineteen hundred twenty-seven, be amended
and reenacted as follows:
Section 8, There shall be a board of zoning appeals appointed
as hereinafter set forth.
Section 10. The board of zoning appeals shall consist of five
members, each to be appointed for a term of three years and to be
removable for cause upon written charges and after public hearing.
Appointments for vacancies occurring otherwise than by expiration
of term shall in all cases be for the unexpired term. Appointments
and removals shall be by the judge of the circuit court of the county
either in term time or vacation except that in counties having a
population of more than two thousand a square mile vacancies oc-
curring by reason of expiration of term, removal or otherwise
shall be filled by the governing body of the county. Such governing
body may also remove any member as hereinabove in this section
provided.
