Chap. 201.—An ACT to amend Chapter 384, Acts of the Assembly of 1944, as
heretofore amended, said Chapter being known and designated as the “Virginia
Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act’ by adding thereto a new section
designated as Section 14-A. [H 271]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That chapter three hundred eighty-four, Acts of the Assem-
bly of nineteen hundred forty-four, as amended, being known and
designated as the “Virginia Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility
Act” be amended by adding thereto a new section as hereinafter
set forth:
Section 14-A. This act, except its provisions as to the require-
ments of making reports of motor vehicle accidents and as to the
filing of proof of financial responsibility by a common carrier for its
drivers and chauffeurs, does not apply to any motor vehicle (one)
operated under a permit or certificate of convenience and necessity
issued by the State Corporation Commission if public liability and
property damage insurance for the protection of the public is
required to be carried upon it, (two) owned by the Commonwealth.
It is provided however that the provisions of this act shall not apply
to any policy of insurance except as to liability thereunder incurred
after certification thereof as proof of financial responsibility.
