Chap. 173.—An ACT to validate acknowledgments to deeds of trust, taken by
persons named as trustees therein and who were also officers authorized by
law to take acknowledgments; and to repeal Chapter 174, Acts of Assembly,
1944, approved March 10, 1944, relating to the same matter, (H 149]

Re it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1, Any certificate of acknowledgment of any deed of trust,
heretofore taken and certified by a person named as trustee therein
who was, at the time of taking the acknowledgment, an officer
authorized by law to take acknowledgments of deeds, is declared
to be as valid and of the same force and effect as if such person
had not been a trustee in the deed of trust; provided that this act
shall not affect any right or remedy of any third party, which
accrued after the recordation of the deed of trust and before the
effective date of this act.
2. Chapter one hundred seventy-four, Acts of Assembly, nine-
teen hundred forty-four, approved March ten, nineteen hundred
forty-four is repealed.
3. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
