Chap. 129.—An ACT to authorize the governing bodies of counties, cities and
towns to make gifts and donations of property, real or personal, and of
money to certain associations and institutions; to validate certain acts; and to
repeal Chapter 36 of the Acts of Assembly, Extra Session, 1947, approved
January 30, 1947, relating to the same subjects. {H 230)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. Section 1. The governing bodies of counties, cities and
towns are authorized to make gifts and donations of property, real
or personal, or of money to be appropriated from their respective
treasuries, to any charitable institution or non-profit or other
organization conducting a hospital, and to any association or other
organization furnishing voluntary fire fighting services, within or
without the boundaries of the respective counties, cities and towns.
Donations of property or money to any such charitable, non-profit
or other hospital, institution or organization may be made for
construction purposes or for operating expenses, or both.
4 All such gifts and donations heretofore made are validated
hereby. .
3. Chapter thirty-six of the Acts of Assembly, Extra Session,
nineteen hundred forty-seven, approved January thirty, nineteen
hundred forty-seven, is repealed.
4. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
