Chap. 115.—An ACT to authorize the adoption and enforcement of dence
saving time in certain areas of the State. [S 179]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The governing body of any county having a population of
more than one thousand per square mile according to the last
preceding United States census or the governing body of any
county or city adjoining any such county, or any of them, may,
with the approval in writing of the Governor first obtained, by
ordinance require, provide for and enforce daylight saving time
in their respective counties and cities.
Such time when so prescribed shall govern the conduct of all
businesses and elections in the respective counties and cities.
An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
