Chap. 114.—An ACT to provide that certain leases of lands for the operation
and development of oil and gas in the State of Virginia shall contain certain
provisions with respect to offset wells. {S 149]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. All leases for operation or development of oil and gas in
the Commonwealth of Virginia shall provide that the lessee shall
drill an offset to any well on adjoining land which is within three
hundred and fifty feet of any outer boundary of the land covered
by the lease, and which well on adjoining land is producing petrol-
eum in paying quantities and draining the lands covered by the
lease, such offset well to be begun within ninety days from the
completion of the adjoining well and drilled with due diligence
to completion.
