Chap. 64.—An ACT to authorize the City of Portsmouth to sell and convey certain
property on Court Street. [H B 178}

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
i. Section 1. The Council of the City of Portsmouth is hereby
authorized and empowered, whenever in its judgment it is fitting and
proper so to do, to sell and convey in the manner provided by law, at
such price and on such terms as it deems best, a certain tract of land
with the building thereon lately used as a fire station but now no longer
needed by the city for such purpose or for any other public use, such
property being more particularly described as a lot of land on the east
side of Court Street between High and King Streets in the City of Ports-
mouth, adjoining certain lands belonging to the estate of Henry Kirn,
deceased, and the lands held by the Trustees of the First Presbyterian
Church, and being the same property formerly known as the City Hall.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
