of Glasgow, the section concerning the powers of the Council in relation to

3e it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
]. ‘That section twelve of chapter four hundred eighty-six of the
Acts of Assembly of eighteen hundred ninety-one-ninety-two, approved
February twenty-nine, eighteen hundred ninety-two, be amended and
re-enacted, as follows:
Section 12. The council shall have such powers as are conferred
by general law upon the governing bodies of cities and towns in the
levy and collection of taxes for roads, streets, sidewalks and other pur-
poses which on no property shall exceed one dollar on the hundred dol-
lars’ valuation.
