Chap. 349.—An ACT to authorize the College of William and Mary in Virginia
to sell and convey certain real estate in the City of Williamsburg, Rh poe

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the College of William and Mary in Virginia be, and it is
hereby authorized and empowered to make sale and conveyance of the
lot of land fifty feet in width, lying between the subdivision known as
“College Terrace” and the westerly boundary of the property owned by
the College, known as the “Bright Property”; and also to make sale
and conveyance of such portion of the lot of land on which the brick
building, known as the “Bright House’, is erected, not exceeding five
acres, as, in the opinion of the College, is unnecessary for college pur-
poses. Said sales to be made in bulk or by the lot, and at such considera-
tion as 1s deemed fair and just, and the President of the College is here-
by empowered to make, execute and deliver a proper deed or deeds con-
veying the same, which sale or sales shall be subject to the approval of
the Governor, and the proceeds from such sale or sales shall be paid to
said College for its use and benefit.
An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
