Whereas, on December eleventh, nineteen hundred forty-four, Mrs.
Jack Taylor of Lebanon, Virginia, was crossing a foot bridge over the
Clinch River near Honaker in Russell County, Virginia, which was cov-
ered with approximately fourteen inches of snow as a result of an un-
precedented storm; and
Whereas, this bridge did fall in, causing Mrs. Taylor to sustain a
broken back; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That there be paid to Mrs. Jack Taylor, out of funds appropri-
ated to the Department of Highways, the sum of four hundred dollars,
such payment to be made by the State Treasurer upon a warrant issued
by the Comptroller.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
