Chap. 254.—An ACT to appropriate certain funds to the Medical College of Vir-
ginia to be used as a student loan fund. [H B 185]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
l. There is hereby appropriated to the Medical College of Vir-
ginia, out of the general fund in the State treasury, the sum of fifteen
thousand dollars, to be loaned upon such terms and according to such
rules as may be prescribed by the Board of Visitors, to needy and deserv-
ing students from Virginia in the schools of medicine, dentistry and
pharmacy who are in need of financial assistance in completing the work
of the nineteen hundred forty-five-nineteen hundred forty-six school
year, who have been but are no longer receiving financial assistance
under army and navy programs for the education of students in medicine,
dentistry and pharmacy, and who are not receiving assistance under
the provisions of an Act of the Congress of the United States, approved
June twenty-two, nineteen hundred forty-four, entitled the ‘“Service-
men’s Readjustment Act of Nineteen Hundred Forty-four’, as amended.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
