Chap. 248.—An ACT to amend Chapter 101 of the Acts of Assembly of 1922, ap-
proved February 25, 1922, which chapter provided a new charter for the town
of Galax, by adding a new section numbered 67, relating to subdivisions within
the town or within one mile thereof. [S B 248]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That chapter one hundred one of the Acts of Assembly of nine-
teen hundred twenty-two, approved February twenty-five, nineteen
hundred twenty-two, be amended by adding a new section numbered
sixty-seven, as follows:

Section 67. The council is empowered to adopt a comprehensive
plan concerning the subdivision of lands within the corporate limits of
the town or within one mile thereof, into lots, streets and alleys or other
public areas; to require that plats of any and all such subdivisions shall
be submitted to and approved by the council before being eligible for rec-
ordation in the appropriate county clerk’s office; and to require that
they be recorded after having been so approved.
