Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a new
section numbered six hundred eighty-three-a, as follows:

Section 683-a. School buses to be heated.—It shall be the duty of
all county and city school boards to provide for the equipment of all buses
used for the transportation of pupils to and from schools in their respec-
tive counties and cities, with heaters of such capacity that will maintain an
inside temperature of 50°F with an outside temperature of 20°F when
the bus is loaded one-half capacity.

2. This act shall become effective September one, nineteen hundred
forty-seven.
