Chap. 27,—An ACT to empower railroads and certain other public service corpora-
tions to make gifts or donations to war funds, community funds, and other
charities or charitable institutions. [H. B. 48]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That every railroad, electric railway, or steamboat corporation
and every transportation corporation, telegraph or telephone company or
other public service corporation subject to regulation by the State Cor-
poration Commission which is chartered or created under the laws of
this State shall have and possess the power through its board of directors
to make donations and gifts to war funds, community funds, and other
charities or charitable institutions.

2. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its passage.
