Chap. 292.—An ACT for the relief of the Trustees of the Botetourt Church of the
Brethren, the General Mission Board of the Church of the Brethren, and Dale-
ville College. [H 307]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Trustees of the Botetourt Church of the Brethren, the
General Mission Board of the Church of the Brethren, and Daleville
College, having been erroneously assessed with State taxes as stock-
holders of the First National Exchange Bank of Roanoke (they being
exempt from such taxation under section four hundred and thirty-five of
the Tax Code of Virginia, as amended), and such taxes having been
paid into the State treasury on their behalf, it is hereby directed that
such taxes be refunded to them, for the tax years and for the amounts
hereinafter stated, that is to say: Trustees of the Botetourt Church of
the Brethren, tax years nineteen hundred and thirty-six to nineteen hun-
dred and forty, both inclusive, in total amount of two hundred dollars
and seventy-six cents; General Mission Board of the Church of the
Brethren, tax years nineteen hundred and thirty-six to nineteen hundred
and forty, both inclusive, in total amount of one hundred and thirty
dollars and ninety-three cents; and Daleville College, tax years nineteen
hundred and thirty-six to nineteen hundred and forty-one, both inclusive,
in total amount of one thousand and eighty-two dollars and eight cents.
2. For making the several payments authorized and directed by this
act, there is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the State treasury
not otherwise appropriated, the sum of fourteen hundred and thirteen
dollars and seventy-seven cents; and such refunds shall be made by the
State Treasurer on warrants of the Comptroller issued on vouchers
signed by the State Tax Commissioner.
