Chap. 138.—An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a new section num-
bered 6204-a, validating certain proceedings had under the two preceding sec-
tions, under certain circumstances. [H 146]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a new sectiott
numbered sixty-two hundred four-a, as follows:
Section 6204-a. Validating proceedings under the two preceding
sections.—All proceedings had in any cause, under the provisions of
either or both of the two preceding sections, wherein a final judgment
or decree has stood unimpeached for more than twenty years in counties
in which the public court records of the clerk’s office have been destroyed
by fire subsequent to the year eighteen hundred eighty-four and prior
to the year of nineteen hundred thirty-three, are declared to be valid
and binding in all respects, nothwithstanding any irregularities in the
proceedings, provided the petitioner in the proceeding or those in privity
of title with him have held the lands involved therein or the surface
thereof in open. notorious, exclusive and continuous possession for as
long as or longer than ten vears next prior to the effective date of this act.
