Chap. 58.—An ACT to release all liens in favor of the Commonwealth and of the
political subdivisions thereof, for taxes and levies assessed prior to 1937, upon
any real estate owned by or held in trust for any benevolent or charitable
association and acquired solely for lodge purposes or meeting rooms, for any
year or years in which such association received no rents, profits or income
whatever from said real estate. [H B 105]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That all
liens existing in favor of the Commonwelath and of any political sub-
division thereof, for taxes or levies assessed prior to the year nineteen
hundred and thirty-seven, upon any real estate owned by or held in trust
for any benevolent or charitable association and acquired solely for lodge
purposés or meeting rooms, for any year or years in which such associa-
tion received no rents, profits or income whatever from said real estate,
are hereby unconditionally released and in case said real estate was re-
turned delinquent for the non-payment of such taxes or levies for any
such year or years, the clerk of the court in whose office such delinquent
returns shall have been recorded, is hereby directed to note the release of
such liens by virtue of this act, on the appropriate line or lines in the de-
linquent land books in which such returns were so recorded.
