Chap. 455.—An ACT to authorize and empower Chesterfield county, or its de-
signee, if such designee be a municipal corporation in the county, to acquire by
condemnation, for the purpose of providing a public water supply for said county,
or its designee, such right, title and interest as the Commonwealth of Virginia
- and the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries may have in the water, and
the land under the water, in the lake on Swift Creek, in said county, known
as “Lakeview”. [H B 515]

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That the
county of Chesterfield, or its designee, if such designee be a municipal
corporation within the county, is hereby authorized and empowered to
institute and conduct condemnation proceedings in the circuit court of
said county against the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Commission
of Game and Inland Fisheries, for the acquisition, for the purpose of
providing a public water supply for said county or its designee, as the
case may be, such right, title and interest as the Commonwealth and the
said Commission may have in and to the water, and the land under the
water, in the lake on Swift Creek, in said county, known as “Lakeview”,
such proceedings to be instituted and conducted in like manner as con-
demnation proceedings are authorized by law to be instituted and con-
ducted by the State Highway Commitsioner, for acquisition of land for
highway purposes.
Z. An emergency existing this act shall be in force from its passage.
