Chap. 44.—An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 623, as heretofore amended, of
the Code of Virginia, prohibiting division superintendents of schools from receiv-
ing additional compensation for distributing textbooks, and prescribing penalties.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia, That section
six hundred and twenty-three of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore
amended, be amended and re-enacted as follows:

Section 623. Division superintendent not to receive compensation
for distributing textbooks.—No additional compensation shall be allowed
to a division superintendent of schools who acts for the board in the sale
and distribution of school books.

Any violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor and
each separate act shall constitute a separate offense.
